The Journey
DewSmoke’s real name is Riley Allen, and his story as a creator started unusually early. At just 9 years old, he was already making RC (radio-controlled) content, filming and sharing videos long before most kids even thought about content creation.
By the time he reached 15, he had moved beyond RC videos and was experimenting with game development in RPG Maker 2000, creating small game demos and learning how games were built from the ground up. That early obsession with making things would become a theme throughout his life.
At 18, Riley shifted his focus almost entirely to music. He began performing live shows, releasing albums and singles, and building a genuine audience online. Over the next few years, his music accumulated more than 5 million views and streams worldwide, while maintaining roughly 10,000 monthly listeners across multiple platforms.
After reconnecting with his Christian faith and becoming rooted in Jesus Christ, he made the difficult decision to step away from music. Instead, he pursued mixed martial arts, taking part in various bouts and showcase events while documenting that chapter of his life on TikTok.
A major turning point came when he moved from Saskatchewan to Vancouver. There, he returned to the passion that had started when he was a teenager: indie game development. That comeback led to the founding of DewGames.org, an independent game development and modding hub, and DewGamesTV on YouTube, where he now shares his game projects, fan-game development, modding work, and the process of building games from scratch.
What makes Riley’s story stand out is that it isn't a straight line. He moved through RC content, game development, music, MMA, and back into game creation, with each stage teaching him new skills that eventually came together in the creation of the DewGames brand.
